Mary and I went to eat at Five Star Thai this afternoon after a little bit of shopping. This place is seriously my favorite Thai restaurant, and I’ve been to plenty in Chicago (though the Duck Walk is pretty tasty as well). I love Thai iced tea. I need to learn how to make it on my own so I can have an endless supply.
Anyhow, our server Jillian overheard Mary and I talking about art and told us about a show of sorts that was to be happening in the region very early next year. It was “region themed” meaning anything I could probably snap a picture of in Northwest Indiana, but stemmed more from an activist mindset. She pointed us in the direction of the Local 219 page on myspace for more information.
I’m not a stunning, visual artist by any stretch of the imagination, but I thought I would throw that out there for those people who are. Spread the good word and all that jazz.
In other news, I have a nice smattering of mosquito bites all up my arm. There’s even one on my forehead, which looks rather lovely and pink. Why were mosquitoes even made? To test human will?
Most likely.
1 MORE DAY TO PASS AND THEN D&D OMG YAY.

So incredibly busy lately. I know I say that a lot, and it’s always my excuse for not blogging but it’s entirely true. Work has been delightfully busy. I started softball. Went drinking with the guys a couple times. I’m going to Great America with my family and Rahsaan on Monday.
Perhaps the coolest thing is that I’m collabing with my friend Sandy on a project. I’ll be putting together some grassroots vignettes and she will be doing some art for them. We’re looking for it to be a fun little web project, one that will actually bear fruit and get done.
Maybe in the end we can print.
I love my life right now.

Everything lately has been so hyper-paced that it’s leaving me a little scatterbrained. I just need some time to stand still and get my bearings. Work, friends and everything in between. Just slow down, please!
It frustrates me when I’m not writing creatively, but as of late I’ve traded a bit of my creativity to be a little more social. I’ve spent time with my family, with Shaun, with Marisol, with Brad. Hell, even a bunch of my coworkers after work. Rock Band is great. I think it will forever get my approval (until it becomes boring, but what are the odds of that, you know?).
This weekend not only do I get to see Shaun, I get to see Pierre. His birthday extravaganza is coming and I wouldn’t miss it for the world, even if it means driving through fire to get there.
So yes, I’ll take the social trade off. I may not be very creative right now, but I am happy.

I will make Amelia and Simon the most amazing couple on the face of this good, green earth. Amazing. I’m so excited for them. I’m excited for Amelia and her adventures. I’m excited. I’m creating again.
It makes me feel beautiful.
“Life still goes on before and after the hours of nine and five.”
”Dearest Amelia. Your prince is in another castle.”

I used to read the dictionary when I was younger, forever searching for new words to use in my writing. The older I’ve gotten, the less adventurous I seem to be when it comes to my vocabulary. Can I blame minimalism?
Share with me some of your favorite words, along with reasons why you adore them.
