Are YOU on Facebook?

September 1st, 2008 Nichole

I’ve been using Facebook as a photo repository lately, only because I can lock it from random people.  (I’m sure you can do the same with Flickr but meh, I know more people on Facebook.)

So… are any of your fine people on Facebook?  They’re recently banned the Scrablicious app, but hey there are always other things to do!

Leave me your name and I can follow you.  :P

Because you’re republican we shouldn’t be seen together.

Jenette was talking about how she had delightful conversation with a conservative blogger while at BlogIndiana, which she found pretty surprising.

I would never have gone out of my way to meet a conservative blogger, but I had a nice chat with him, he didn’t sprout demon horns or cloven hooves, and I helped him with his BlogAds. That’s one of the nice things about these conferences, you meet people you would never have met otherwise and they turn out not to be the devil.

I will forever be hung up on why people continue to push all these dividers between us. Amazing things happen, amazing conversations happen when you just get to know someone for who they are, as opposed to their political, religious or do-you-believe-in-UFOs leanings.

People, listen. Go out and talk to everyone you possibly can, even if you find out they’re ulta-conservative or a bleeding-heart liberal. People are amazing, no matter what their personal philosophy. Plus it always makes for the ultimate of discussions when your beliefs don’t coincide.

In short, talk to people blind. You may surprise yourself and think about the way you live your life (and choose your friends) in a whole different light.

Redirection in your direction.

If you pay any attention to the address bar in your browser, you’ll notice that I’ve moved from a directory to a subdomain on my server. Why I hadn’t done this a million years ago (aka 8 months ago) is beyond me. I think it looks a little neater.

I redirected the feeds too, so if you subscribe you should still get all your wonderful, wholesome, lesbian-Nichole goodness packaged in your handy RSS reader. I will get one of those one day. Ben thinks they’re great. Maybe I would too.

Anywho… hot water is fixed and I’m glad that it’s not the heater malfunctioning. NIPSCO had to come out and turn the power off on the water heater for something unknown. Sucks to you NIPSCO!

So yeah. Nothing exciting going on in these parts this evening. I’m still trying to catch up on all my housework since I was down in Indy at BlogIndiana for the weekend.

Ta ta.

The curtain has fallen on blogindiana day 2.

August 17th, 2008 Nichole

Day 2 of the big blogindiana convention was even more informative than day 1.  It was also filled with some fun and awesome people, whom I’m very glad to have met.  I have so many new Twitter friends!  Just wait until work tomorrow, guys!  You will then see how boring I am.  (Just kidding.)

Bil’s discussion made me set up a new blog.  It’s niched which is something I’ve never done before.  I’m addicted to everyday minerals makeup, so I decided to make a blog about all the fun colors and products that everyday minerals has to offer.  It’s in the works, so don’t expect anything exciting as of yet, but be sure to check back in the next few days for some updates.  So exciting.

A lot of the speakers at the convention were great and really knew their stuff.  However, I have to say the best thing about the whole trip was the networking.  So many bloggers right here in Indiana.  Now I just have to get a hold of the one on the northwest side of the state!

Thanks IUPUI for a great time.  If you’re around next year, I will surely come!

Day 1 of blogindiana has come to a close.

Who the hell knows what day 2 will have in store for us Region Rats.

Jon, Nathan and I jumped into the after-event networking pool for a little while.  I met up with some fantastic ladies whom I really hope I get to talk with tomorrow as well.  They were really interesting and easygoing.  You know how you get that nice vibe from people you don’t even know sometimes?  Yeah, that’s how I felt with them.

Gen Con was today too, so downtown Indy was a little packed.  We ended up driving back in the direction of our hotel on the west side and ate at a Bob Evans.  Whatever.  It was food and we were fricken hungry.

Sitting in my hotel room talking to Jai because she’s cool like that.  I miss her.  I’d like to go out and visit PA again, but I’m not sure when I could do that.  I can go whenever, but I’m not sure when she can make the time.

Man, this is pathetic.  It’s only 9 and I’m dead tired.  I guess that’s what I get for getting up at 6:30 on a Saturday.

How was blogindiana for you all?
